I Don't Look Like What I've Been Through

It’s amazing how God distances us from our past. We don’t look anything like where we’ve been or from where we’ve come.

Here's a verse to remember:

If any man be in Christ Jesus, he is a new creature . . . 2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus uses the language of new creation when Paul is speaking to the church at Corinth by saying, If any man be in Christ Jesus, he is a new creature, old things have passed away and behold all things are new.

Christ is not known for hiding the past but rather encourages being hopeful for the future. While everyone is saved from something, our future in Christ is always bigger, brighter and better than where we last came from.

Because of this, the bible says we are overcome by the words of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb. We can help so many people by telling them that through Christ, we are victorious over our troubled past. We have newfound hope in salvation and we can now experience joy in Christ because of our bright futures in Him.

Now isn't that something to thank God for?
